IN THE STABLE
Lyrics for
Primary Children
Verse
One:
In the stable, there behind the ancient inn,
Past the camels and the horses and the noisy travelers
din;
In the stable through the creaking wooden door,
Past the saddles and the bridles and the grain upon
the floor,
Come with me, come with me, let us hurry there to see!
They have told us there’s a Baby who’s the Son of God.
Verse Two:
In the stable, there among the piles of hay,
‘Mid the oxen and the pigeons and the donkey’s noisy
bray,
In the stable, many people gathered ‘round,
Village folk and shepherds standing at the manger
looking down,
Come with me, come with me, let us hurry there to see!
They have told us there’s a Baby who’s the Son of God.
Verse
Three:
See the Baby, see the mother watching nigh,
See the multitudes of angel hosts from heaven in the
sky,
Come with me, come with me, speak in whispers, bend
your knee,
We have found the wondrous Baby who’s the Son of God.
See the Baby, see the glory, let us worship the Son of
God.
Does anyone happen to know who wrote this beautiful song? My dad has been looking for this song for years, he's only remembered the first line from when his mom sang it to him as a child. I would really love to find the sheet music for him. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteHi Makenzie, Maxcine Woodbridge Posegate is the composer. I love this song too! Here is a link to purchase sheet music. Good luck! http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/in-the-stable-sheet-music/863800
ReplyDeleteWow thank you so so much!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a long shot because this blog post is so old but is there any chance you still have the mp3 available for this song? Or a sound recording of some kind? I’ve been asked to accompany for it but really need to hear what it’s supposed to sound like.
